Vase Signed Mel or Mee Glazed Teracotta? Engraved wit Flowers Sandy Colour

Small vase with a sandy tone of glaze. Mottled blueish glaze inside. Signed Mel on the base. The ring of visible ceramic at the base looks teracotta colour but it feels more solid / dense than what I normally associate with teracotta. The plant design is enscribed or carved into the surface.
