Re: Star of David Bowl (Pit Fired?)
I wondered why you suggested "pit fired"?
I like the shape of the vase and the marks on the foot are because too much glaze has been put on the pot and during firing it has stuck to the kiln shelf.
The glaze mix looks professional but because of the mark I am wondering if it is a student that was in the process of being taught by a experienced potter, who supplied the glazes.
I do find it interesting and could well have bought it myself, if I had come across it.

Re: Star of David Bowl (Pit Fired?)
Thanks for that sp - it's a strange mark to put on a pot i was wondering if there was a religious connotation to it...
(i said the bit about the pit fired bec the bottom looked a bit like an early ewenny piece i have which was pit fired {a little knowledge is a dangerous thing}
)
Nice to get a second opinion .. thx

Re: Star of David Bowl (Pit Fired?)
In some ways the mark is more like you would see on a factory piece. I would have wondered about a religious connection too but, as there is nothing elsewhere to suggest it, I would have dismissed the possibility.

Re: Star of David Bowl (Pit Fired?)
I think the lines are a bit wavy to be stamped and think looks from the pot to be a hand drawn mark... which prompts your earlier point about being a student pot..

Re: Star of David Bowl (Pit Fired?)
Looks typical of Art Deco, Art Pottery with drippy glazed bases. Goodness knows how they didnt just fuse to whatever they were fired on. Not a mark I recognise so I suspect it’s by an enthusiastic amateur rather than a manufacturer, or maybe from the Continent
