was wondering if anyone here had an opinion or theory

I’ll move this to ID My Pottery. All the other pottery groups are for identified pieces and used for reference. I’ll move it back if & when it’s IDed.

Unless it can hold a sponge in the lid, I don't think it's a tobacco jar.
