Flying Duck identification help BRETBY

Post by smartee on July 7th 2018, 8:22 am

Hi All, I have a flying duck-- and it has an imprinted makers mark & england imprinted under it. I have searched for hours and can't find what the mark are. The duck is a very high quality I think compared to others - I thought it maybe Beswick but that mark is mystifying! Help please ;-)

It would appear to be Bretby, though that specific mark is not shown
in the Bretby book.
May be made for a wholesaler/retailer, like the Denby wall ducks, which
were never marked as Denby.

thanks so much for the help- I had spent ages trying to guess what it was. Any idea of age? it has the england mark not the 'made in england mark'. Now i can look it up and there are others and seem very rare - not sure of worth - it has 2 small chips. Thanks! again!

Most wall ducks were made in the 1930s and 1950s.
