Brutish Cider Jar flagon, dv mark Empty Brutish Cider Jar flagon, dv mark

A big, heavy, rather brutish tenmoku-glazed cider jar, 14 inches tall, with a mark that I don't recognise, possibly dv or dl.

I wouldn't have bought it except that as soon as I picked it up in the charity shop, the lady said "you can have that for half price". Fatal! Surrender

Well it proves one thing. You have got to be a truly excellent thrower to produce a classic  cider jar. This one is Okay as bit of pottery. But a classic Cider Jar? Wellll er.....um. It is is just NOT. In practically every way! Never seen that Mark before.
