Lidded Ginger Jar Signed Tribal Motif? Empty Lidded Ginger Jar Signed Tribal Motif?

Hi All:

I purchased this lovely (what I'll call) ginger jar today. The decoration is reminiscent of Pacific NW tribal art. It's about 7" high. There's a deeply incised "BC" towards the bottom, as well as an "M" underneath. Any ideas as to who the maker might be?
