That's why it looked so familiar to me and I should have caught that. In my mind whenever I think of the pottery made in San Marino I see sgraffito busts of Italian girls on a field of red. Same when I see a lava drip glaze, mind goes to W. Germany. Thanks LancashireRosie.

Weis is white in German so maybe not Italian
