Small vase, WR mark - William Ruscoe??

Lovely little vase that I think maybe by William Ruscoe.

I don't know - a quick google search reveals he did quite a few vases and other piece and was known to experiment with glazes. I have found 4 pieces online (not figures or sculptures) that are very different in style.
The mark is hand written and so you might expect variances.

I've contacted the Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery in Exeter, where he lived and died and who have a collection of vases and one sculpture by him. I have sent photos and asked their opinion. I'll update when I have news.

I sent the images to The Ceramics Dept. at The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery and they said it looks like a mark attributed to William Ruscoe. I will wait and see what the Exeter museum say.

William Ruscoe's son's opinion. He writes:

Looking at the signature I can't say that it matches any signature on the Ruscoe pots I have although he used a number of different signatures including just initials. Normally he wrote William Ruscoe in full on the larger pots but there are a number of variations of initials on smaller wares. But none exactly like the one you have. However looking at your pot there are some similarities, for example the start of the W bends from the left at the top and the R curves at the bottom. The general appearance of the pot and its glaze looks very Ruscoe I have to say.

My conclusion would be that it could be a Ruscoe but I can't say for sure. I certainly never saw all the pots he ever made and there must be many out there.
