Sculpture with signature and title - can you help ID this please??
Unusual sculpture of a head. Approx. 5" in diameter.
Title seems to read 'Placide', can't make out the signature.
Any info on this at all would be gratefully received!
Thanks.

The only name that I can think of to fit would be Placide Saltalamacchia Valauris Aegitna but it's a very different style to your head which I must say is the weirdest piece we have seen on the forum for many a month!
I look forward to seeing what else you have in your collection

Thanks for your interest and replies.
I can see the similarities to Samuel Salcedo, fascinating stuff. But not his work.....
So any other ideas anyone???

Re: Sculpture with signature and title - can you help ID this please??
Also, I have always assumed the word 'Placide' to be the title of the work (as in placid - I found this in France but don't know its provenance) rather than the name of the artist?
As far as the rest of my collection goes, what can I say? I'm not a collector as such, things come, stay for a while, maybe go, maybe stay for a while longer, an ever-changing mix of weird and wonderful stuff.......
