Tall brown/ green art pottery vase with heavy glaze
Hello, Id really appreciate some help in identifying this beautiful yet bizarre looking vase.
It is 29cm tall. Its as if it is made of 3 sections. A tall base, with a wide, flat middle rim (approx 14cm across) and then a narrow top funnel (6 cm diameter).
It is an olive green colour with patches of red/brown. It has a thick, shiny glaze.
On the base are the letters ME and then underneath (what appears to be) VVEJ or WEJ ?
I feel as if it is 1970s, but cannot obviously be sure of this. Any help much appreciated!! :-)
P.S. Apologies if these appear sideways, I tried several times to upload the right way! Thanks again

It's not a mark or a shape I've come across before, but there are various attributes that point to it being a student piece - the slab building. The puddling and streaky glaze. The glazed base - bases are usually wiped so they don't stick or drip on the kiln shelf. Plus the inscribed initials, rather than a stamp. And the second set of letters might be WED for Wednesday.

Hi Naomi, thanks so much for your reply I really appreciate it. I love the vase, i suppose its a shame it wasnt made in a famous studio but it looks nice on my shelf :-) I have one more vase I need to try and identify, initialed not marked so could be the same story. Thanks again! Jodie
