Vaguely familiar decoration. Strange or no mark Empty Vaguely familiar decoration. Strange or no mark

I was sure I recognised the decoration on this earthenware vase, but haven't been able to find similar at the moment.
There are marks on the base but they are probably nothing - looks like a very vague M.

Grateful as ever for any ideas

Has a RYE look about it, albeit a little crude, David sharp or Cinq ports springs to mind.

I would have said Rye...David Sharp on a weird day !

That was one of my thoughts. Colour is familiar and the base looks very Rye

Looks like it's marked with an M or W. Student piece imo.

If I looked at that for sale on a stall. I would be surprised if it was not David Sharp. That colour is so linked with his animals that its almost a trademark. Don't know if the clay is right but that is who I would say it is closest too.
