That base and footpads would put the origin firmly in Asia with Thailand or China the most likely. It's a nice glaze and shape but it's not very old. I would guess it is factory made for the European market in the last 15 years.

Thank you for your info. It does not appear to be common, as I have spent a vast amount of time trying to find this particular shape online. It is very heavy and we'll made too. If factory made, and not that old, surely would you not think, here would be more online?

I have seen lots of these over the years without actually knowing what they are.
More often seen in a deep red/maroon colour.
Don't know why, but I always thought German.

Yep, agree. I've seen this sort of stuff before and always assumed German or Belgian.
