I think the base overlay is pewter, with a lotus flower design. It is marked on the base rim with a crown followed by the no 1498 and a shield with a lionCan anyone identify this vase Image10

I can't really make out the marks, but I can't seem to find a crown/lion reference.
I'd guess c1900/1910 German or Austrian, but It could just be English also.
