Carved mahogany barrel shaped pot Empty Carved mahogany barrel shaped pot

The carving looks earlier than mid-20thC. Possibly 19thC. Mahogany lidded pot in the shape of a barrel. Despite it being mahogany, I'm wondering if it's Scandinavian rather than Indian or Indonesian.

It's about the right size for a tobacco jar.

The shape is similar to segmented spice boxes but carved in one piece, so maybe an early 20thC Anglo-Indian piece
