An Octopus pot Empty An Octopus pot

Another pot from my late mother-in-law's collection.

I don't know the exact purpose of this, the design of the octopus is on front and back and is exactly the same, as though screen printed somehow.

The object is 23 cm high and has a 'J' written on the base.

Looks like it weighs a ton. My guess would be a hobby potter. The shape is ok but the design is not something I would expect anyone to produce for sale. But others are many times better at studio than I am.

It looks familiar but that might just be the octopus decoration which could be a copy of Classical Greek/Cyprus decor.
