Raku figurine, signed MS, Mark Stanczyk?

Interesting raku figurine, incised MS mark. According to BSPM book Mark Stanczyk did figurative sculpture in Raku but I can't see any examples online.

I cant find anything about his figurative work either, but as you say an interesting piece. I wonder what her story is? and the key - where does it unlock? hmmm

I think he's got a load of boards on Pinterest. Worth asking him.

Found an interview with him in an edition of Ceramic Review, no.102 (1986 Nov/Dec) and his figurative work is very different from this figure. The glaze looks similar to that made by the Bitossi factory, although probably not by Bitossi themselves because of the monogram. But might point to a European origin
