Francoise Dufayard, France
Large skilfully executed and decorated plate - 28cm. It has a shoal of fish incised and its colours have a Japanese influence I believe. There is a handwritten signature on the underside and oriental characters impressed. Any help to identify the maker of this plate very much appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Francoise Dufayard, France
I believe it's by Francoise Dufayard. I have a little cup with one of her fish on it.

Re: Francoise Dufayard, France
Although there is a thread under Studio Pottery, I thought that as she was a French potter, who works in Rennes, Bretagne that there ought to be something under European Pottery too. As Naomi states elsewhere, she does show her work at many events in the UK and has been doing so for over 10 years as far as I am aware. She was born in 1960 and began potting professionally in 1980.

Re: Francoise Dufayard, France
Looks like Francoise Dufayard. Don't recall seeing one of her pieces with a stamp before, but the incised signature and glaze looks right.

Having had a look at her work I reckon you are spot on! Thanks for the name. Having looked at her site I found a bowl (sold), almost identical, complete with a visible stamp.BrandX wrote:Looks like Francoise Dufayard. Re: Francoise Dufayard, France
Actually, having since looked at a bowl or hers which I have, it does have the stamp; I'm sure an earlier piece which I sold on some time ago did not (only the incised signature).
