Personally, I love this oak turned table lamp base. I think it looks like it was done by a very skilled turner, but I've had comments to the contrary.
Could anyone help, maybe Danish?
Approx. 24cm tall.

The mix of turning shapes down the column and the use of oak/chestnut? points to a hobby wood turner. 30s-50s era

Thanks Naomi...so my adviser was correct. Hobby turning is not a disappointment to accidentally own when what's produced is admired. I'm keeping this and I think with the right complimentary shade it'll look great.
