They must have been made in huge quantities, so are relatively common, though
there are some less common variations and colourways, as I remember.

Three Hornsea ashtrays.

Hornsea Pottery - Page 7 Img_2417

The two round ashtrays have the same backstamp, but the smaller one is numbered 263 and the bigger one 235.
(NB. One I posted earlier on the thread, with black instead of blue colour scheme, is numbered 262 - https://www.20thcenturyforum.com/t186p105-hornsea-pottery#88263)

Hull-based film company NDE Films is getting ready to make a DVD of workers memories from the halcyon days of Hornsea Pottery and they are putting out a public appeal with an assortment of archive images.

At the last hornsea collectors meeting, a member who was a former empytee,
showed a most interesting video. A copy of a copy on VHS of various periods of
production. He is hoping to try and get it cleaned up and digitised.
A young John Clappison, and the mechanisation at the Lancaster pottery were
particularly intersting, in beteween the amateur home-movie stuff.

Hornsea Pottery - Page 7 Empty Interesting little piece of Hornsea I picked up recently

Post by Howard Lincoln on September 16th 2015, 11:31 pm

I had a good weekend in the charity shops last weekend and the highlight was this little vase (4") that I was very surprised to find was Hornsea. Small but so vivid it really punches well above it's weight in the cabinet. Really stands out.

Two 'Tasty Dish' trays. I am not sure when these were made, but it was probably in the early 1960s.

I have seen another design, with a woman wearing a conical hat. How any designs were there? I also think they came with different colourways...

A bit earlier Brin, It's "Gaiety" from 1964-5. There are several colourways.
They re-used the moulds from the 1963 "Slipware" range.
