Identification of the character of toby jug Empty Identification of the character of toby jug

Dear Sirs,
I need your help in identification of the character of this jug. Who is this person? The jug is made of white metal, plated with bronze color. There is no hallmarks on it. Is it possible to identify also the firm, the country and the period of the jug

I realize that the identification of the producer without any marks is problematic. So I am primerly interesting in the identification of the character. Is this someone famous?

Looks like a Tudor gentleman. I don't think the image is English. May be a Dutch, Spanish or Portuguese ships captain/explorer
