Controlled bubble vase... any ideas please
Hi all you clever folk,
Thanks for taking the time to look at my latest find.
Any ideas would be great as im clueless on this one.
I bought it thinking its of some quality
now not so confident, I have a sneaking suspicion it could be a TKMax job.
Very heavy, unusual top rim which has been turned back over to form a double thickness.
Base has some contact wear but not lots. Completely flat. No makers marks.

Much much better quality than TKMax, the base is too well finished and the bubbles are too even. The base colour and style rings a bell but I just can't place it. I'll have a think and see if I can come up with anything, how tall is it?

Hi Davee, thanks for looking.
I guess its almost a bowl rather than a vase as its quite large
measuring 6" high by 6 1/4" across

I'm thinking along the same lines as Bistoboy, the base colour and patternation is very similar to Kosta but they are usualy etch signed? Could have had a label that has been removed?? Too well finished for TK Max. Could just be a student piece??

Take a look at Denby, there is a range of glassware with their name on it, many items include a mottled section like that. I have seen the drinking glasses for sale in TK Max (apparently in John Lewis too but that is too posh for me!), their quality is pretty good...
