Another recent purchase that I'm struggling to identify.  Can anyone help?

Small pot signed BL Bl_pot10

Although the photo seems suggest the monogram is PL, looking at the pot it is clearly BL but I couldn't get a a clearer picture:

Once again, thank you for all your help!

From the image it looks as if the mark may have been scratched on after firing. Do you think that's so?

Yes, it could well be that it was scratched on after firing.

Then probably done by someone hoping that a potential buyer might think it's by Bernard Leach.

I imagine that it was unmarked or had a sticker with details at some point. A pleasant shape.

I'd have thought it was too crude to be a genuine attempt at deception but, as you say, a pleasant shape and it has its own aesthetic value.

I'll put it on the shelf and enjoy it.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Many years ago I went to an antiques fair and saw a Langley Ware jug with the windmill mark and BL in felt tip on the bottom. In front was a big sign saying Bernard Leach so you never know.
