Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
Cheers, I’ll have to go back and check. There were 2 Poole plates in the window. The other one was closer to the door and fell off its stand and smashed. Not my fault! The shop nextdoor shut its door and the vibration knocked the plate off its stand. I suggested they move the Carol Cutler plate to a safer location incase it happened again but they didn’t

Poole Pottery help please
Hi all,
I picked up this peice of poole pottery which is a nice-sized planter 16.5cm tall x 19cm. the outide has these lovely brush flowers and the inside is plain chocolate brown.
The bottom has the no. 496, ABJ and then the letter K
I have checked the Part one and Two in here for Poole Pottery which has left me really confused. I thought the 496 was the style but I read that the ABJ is the style and the K is the artist. I thought this was a peice by Jacqueline Mackenzie Leonard but now I not so sure.
Thank you
Emma

A google lens is coming up with Richard Till! Is this a possibility, it would be a great find it is!

Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
These are two of a set of 6 designs. NK 1 - 6.
The poole book (Ed1) doesn't attribute them to a particular designer unfortunately.

Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
A question I've been meaning to ask those in the know for quite a while. (I don't think I've asked before)
I've seen it said that the Celtic Pottery range was continued for a while after Celtic closed by Poole Pottery - But is this true? If so, does anyone have any examples?
I've seen this on a few ebay listing and it seems to have come from The Digital Museum Of Cornish Ceramics.

Re: Poole Pottery 1960-1980 Part Two
The only time Poole were involved in the revival of another pottery was with Pilkington in the 1970's, when they were owned by Pilkington. But it never came to much I believe.

Thanks Guys.
I thought this 'info' was a load of Bull, but good to have it confirmed by those who know Poole Pottery.
Where do people come up with this rubbish!

Can't see mark in the book, I would date it to 1969-1970.
