Glass paperweight, Mdina? - probably Chinese

I wonder if anyone might help with identifying this paperweight? It has no labels, marks or signature. Measures about 9cm high.

9 cms is a big weight!
First thought was Mdina, but did they do anything that nice?
A base picture would help, is it cut and polished?

Semi-polished base so I'm still thinking maybe Mdina. They are not always marked,
as they also used stickers.

I'm thinking Mdina and if it's not modern it could be a serious piece. I'll cross it over to a Mdina IoW page to see what they say.
