silver overlay scent bottle

Just bought a beautiful 4" high scent bottle with silver overlay.
No marks except STERLING and a scratched F
I think it's probably American but wondered how to find out for sure.
The number on the base doesn't match the stopper, but it fits fine.
(Sorry I can't seem to get the hang of posting pictures)

Probably is American, but the makers mark is partially worn, it makes it slightly difficult to work out who the maker is.

I saved your image and rotated it, as it was upside down, I think I have found the maker:
La Pierre Mfg. Co.
New York, NY & Newark, NJ ~ 1888 - Present
Sterling novelties and vanity items, a division of International Silver since 1929.

First mark, left hand side:

Thank you so much, I am going there right now to take a look.

I have now looked at every American mark and agree it probably is La Pierre Mfg Co. even tho' the letter looks very slightly different.
This is the part I love, investigation.....
