JRW mark, John R Ward, 1980s

This ? tenmoku glazed bottle has a full set of marks including what looks like the year it was made. John Ward appears in studiopottery.com website but different mark and the description of his work doesn't bear much resemblance either.  Does anyone have any ideas ??

The famous John Ward (the other one) is John Douglas Ward and you are correct the work is nothing like this.

First time I've seen this mark.

No, I didn't realise that there was another John Ward, who potted.

I did in fact live in the same road as the other John Ward but that was before I knew studio pottery existed.

Does anybody recognise the mark ? at least it's VERY clear on this occasion!!

I've just bought this studio vase. Quite heavy, about 21cm tall, slightly flattened/indented on four sides, two of which are decorated with a probably abstract pattern. There's a clear impressed mark, reading, I think,  RJW, although the "J" may be debatable. At first  I thought this must stand  for Robert Johnson Washington (not that I'm particularly familiar with his work). But this mark isn't given for him in any of the books. So now I'm confused. Any ideas?





   

Came across a set of bowls found in the Peak District that include both sets of marks so I think they are all by John R Ward, potting in the 1980s-90s somewhere in Derbyshire area.  
Not the same as the famous potter John Douglas Ward.

Has anyone had any luck identifying this potter? I have a lovely bowl on a raised foot, simple ochre with sgraffito decoration. I'll take some photos in a bit to add to the post. It has the same JRW stamp as the one above, plus an impressed stamp on the bottom with J.R.WARD. I have googled everything I can think of! Did Alan Ward have any family who were potters?!

Unfortunately, other than the scant information on this thread, his origins are still a mystery

In answer to the 14 year question, "Who is JRW?"John R Ward was born in 1937 and unlike his namesake, is currently alive and kicking and living in Lincolnshire with his wife Judith Lindsay, an accomplished Ceramic Artist in her own right.
