HW bowl ? 1950s Empty HW bowl ? 1950s

Post by Doerama March 29th 2015, 2:11 pm

Hi
I have a really beautifully crafted small bowl that has quite a weight for its size.  I think it has a pale celadon glaze?  It has been a struggle to identify it.  The bowl has a freely painted dark blue decoration.  On the base in the same dark blue are painted 'H' above a 'G'.  It also has 'HGW' inscribed by hand and either '-55' or '455'.

Any ideas please.

Thanks

I suspect it's Continental, Holland. It has a Delft vibe to it, and it would be unusual to have a British piece signed and numbered like that.
