Puzzled by stoneware bowl
Hi
I have this stoneware bowl but it has always been a bit of a puzzle. It has some influences of Aldermaston, but the painted mark is a mystery. Perhaps LM?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

An early piece by Laurence McGowan maybe?

Just a follow-up...
I contacted Lawrence McGowan and he advised it not to be one of his. Aldermaston apparently made their wares using earthenware, not stoneware. He agreed the bowl has the flavour of Aldermaston, but maybe it was made by someone who once worked their but then made their own pieces. I'll keep looking.

Re: Puzzled by stoneware bowl
The leaves look a bit like the style of decoration used on Argyll Pottery, but the flowers aren't something I've seen on their current pieces. Might be worth asking Hugh Mactavish. He's on Facebook.
