SPRING CLEAN
Today I decided to make a dent in my hoard so 4 large boxes of my 'under a tenner' pottery has gone to the local charity shops and another box of £10 to £20 valued pots will be listed on ebay soon
I would like to thin my collection down to under a thousand pots but I'm not sure that I'll be able to shift that much pottery in 1 year

Re: SPRING CLEAN
I used to have loads of pots etc but decided yonks ago it was a pointless thing , at the moment I try and keep it about a hundred or less and most are keepers , if I buy /find more it is only to quickly sell on .

Re: SPRING CLEAN
Twomey is making 10000 pots for the opening of the York ceramics gallery later this year. It supposed to represent the 10000 hours it takes to become a good potter.
I think it takes about 10000 pots to become a good collector

Iv'e had thousands over the yrs , but would not like to keep them all stashed in boxes /attics etc , what would be the point , obviously can't be appreciated like that , can only count as dust collecting junk or stock .

Bill Ismay never had that many and he was awarded the MBE.............. so it'll have to be Dame Naomi and Sir Guy.

But they're mine, all mine! and it means no one else has them, my pots are my friends.

Re: SPRING CLEAN
I sold to a single collector and set the price myself.
I learned that making a small profit encourages serious collectors to buy in bulk

Re: SPRING CLEAN
this was another good week for sales and I will be standing at a tiny collectors market in my home town in a couple of months time.
I did a rough calculation this morning and I am nearing the 1000 pot level which means I have shifted more than two thirds of my hoard! (the hoard that I intend to sell that is)
