I bought this today but no idea if it's modern or vintage.  There is little wear on the base; I i know that doesn't necessarily mean it can't be old and it could've stayed in the same spot for years.  However, i'm also happy to accept it could be M&S.  It's iridescent which is hard to photograph.  No signs of a mould seam line, so probably blown into a mould?  The iridescent finish has a kind satin feel and a crackle look on close inspection.

I had a little one with a similar effect on the surface. The Glass Message board said it's etched and that it could be by John Walsh Walsh.

Look into 'stretch glass' too.

Not Walsh Walsh. The effect on Walsh MoP is much finer, as is the glass. It would also likely have a sharp pontil mark
