Re: Kosta, Elis Bergh designs
Oh, I just replied to this on your thread on the glass message board site.
Elis Bergh for Kosta, Sweden.
Elis Bergh for Kosta, Sweden.
Kosta, Elis Bergh
A heavy indigo water jug with internal ribbing. Polished pontil, and foot-rim. Any ideas on the mark?
Just guessing Scandanavian.

Re: Kosta, Elis Bergh designs
I suspect it is B 684, if so an item designed by Ellis Bergh and made by Kosta (Sweden), possibly as far back as the late 1930s. Bergh was the chief designer at Kosta from around 1929 to 1950.

Re: Kosta, Elis Bergh designs
Thanks Jo, I don't think it's a B. Either X/, XY, or I. The numbers could be any of
186, 184, 686, 684, but thanks for some clues.

Re: Kosta, Elis Bergh designs
Not that many of them do look like a B. I have seen many like this. Another point to note is all the other characteristics are spot on especially the optic rib (favoured by Bergh) and the deco-ish shape.

Wonky? Scandy script is definitely a bit wierd! thanks both Nic and Jo.
Elis Bergh for Kosta Kunstglas
Hi, I found this heavy lead crystal vase that reminds me of the series of vases that Anne Nilsson designed for IKEA back in the 90’s.
The signature has worn away but the numbers b.766 remain. When I first spotted this vase I instinctively thought Orrefors and Anne has designed for them. Has anyone ever come across this vase? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Much older. Elis Bergh for Kosta Kunstglas, 1930s or 40s. Can't remember the year the number is from but should be easy enough to find
