Ed the lady needs one of your "signed boxes" for this one.  Cheeky

I know why you've called in a flan dish but would you decorate the inside if it was for that purpose?

Can't tell you much about it but it looks somewhat "factory made" to me.............. so could be Japanese.

I'd take a signed box any day.  Happy

Possibly Japanese. Came across a similar one, but no photo of the base, so can't be sure.

There is the faint impression of fabric on the base. Do the Japanese use fabric mats in the production of their mashiko wares? (also a finger print on the bottom corner).
