Re: Owen Thorpe, Churchstoke & Priestweston Pottery
Yes it is and the decoration is distinctive as well so don't really need the marks.

Re: Owen Thorpe, Churchstoke & Priestweston Pottery
It's one of Owen Thorpe's marks - probably from the 1970s/1980s.

Re: Owen Thorpe, Churchstoke & Priestweston Pottery
Just checked back to say I'd found this one as Priestweston Pottery 1975-81, Owen Thorpe, but you have already beaten me, thanks SP

Re: Owen Thorpe, Churchstoke & Priestweston Pottery
I think the JH is John Harlow. CP may be Chedzoy Pottery. TO may be a colleague. Thomas Owen?

Re: Owen Thorpe, Churchstoke & Priestweston Pottery
I think that they are from the Churchstoke Pottery in Powys and the OT is Owen Thorpe. I don't know who the JH is.
Thorpe was there from 1981 to 2000 but I think that the pottery might still be active.

Re: Owen Thorpe, Churchstoke & Priestweston Pottery
I think these are from the early 1980s and, although Thorpe later worked alone, at that time he had an assistant.

Re: Owen Thorpe, Churchstoke & Priestweston Pottery
Oops, yes, Owen Thorpe. He made/makes? similar jugs at Priestweston Pottery.
Moved to Priestweston, Shropshire in 1975 – to Churchstoke, Powys in 1980 and back to Priestweston in 2000

Re: Owen Thorpe, Churchstoke & Priestweston Pottery
Many thanks for all your help. I have now searched for the JH in relation to the pottery and Owen Thorpe but can't find any further information. If I do locate the artist I will be back with the info.
Thanks again

Re: Owen Thorpe, Churchstoke & Priestweston Pottery
There's a contact email on Owen Thorpe's website, so worth asking him directly.

CP mark on orangey-brown bud vase - Owen Thorpe, Churchstoke Pottery
Another CP mark. This one has 2 impressed marks , both look like CP but one looks joined at the top of the C - this is the one in the star shape - and one looks open on the C.
5” vase, brown and grey decoration and drips. Any ideas? I know there’s lots of CP marks. I don’t think this is old Colin Pearson.

Re: Owen Thorpe, Churchstoke & Priestweston Pottery
Now I can see it as OT! But the outer shape is different to the one in Yates Owen . Anyway, well done!
