I'm not seeing any photos. I think you need some to add spaces between the URLs

Re: Green yellow patterned large vase?
Sorry I don't seem to be able to get more than one picture on a post?
The vase has no seams like i've seen in usual moulded glass?
I know nothing about glass though.

Re: Green yellow patterned large vase?
It is pressed glass. There will be at least two seams. Look carefully down the pattern lines It looks like uranium glass to me, which probably dates it to the 1930s-50s. My guess would be Czech
Re: Green yellow patterned large vase?
Hi Christine, thanks for your reply. It definitely has no seams. Im sending a pic of the base in case that helps. Cheers

Just wondering, as it has no seams does that mean it's modern? made recently..

Re: Green yellow patterned large vase?
I reiterate
Show me a picture of the whole top rim please. The seams will be down the sides somewhere but not necessarily on the base

Re: Green yellow patterned large vase?
Hi Christine, I'm not doubting what you saying but I've got really good eye sight and there are no seams.
There is only a very small dot in the centre of the base, hence photo of base.
It's probably very new.
I only got it second hand about 5 months ago. Regards.

Re: Green yellow patterned large vase?
IT IS NOT NEW. It is uranium glass (I can see it is. I have 100s of pieces of uranium glass and can usually tell from a photo) and probably 1930s-1950s Czech. Even if it has no seams that doesn't mean it is new. Seams can be very hard to spot on patterned pieces as they follow the pattern lines rather than going in a straight line
Re: Green yellow patterned large vase?
Thanks Christine, It looks yellow most of the time now and again green (maybe the light).
Sorry about my ignorance but some one told me if it was uranium it would glow in the dark. It doesn't.
Any way it's about 12 inches tall and 7 across the top, pretty but not really my thing, I'm just a magpie.
Kind regards and appreciate your help.

Re: Green yellow patterned large vase?
Seam marks can be removed, dipping in acid is one method.

I thought it looked like uranium glass too, to see it glow (if it turns out to be uranium) you would need to shine a UV light on it, it won't just fluoresce on it's own. Another way you can see uranium glass glow a bit is at dawn or dusk, the light conditions are more suited to it then.

Re: Green yellow patterned large vase?
If it is uranium glass It's the first and only piece I've acquired.
It's what I thought originally because of it's spooky quality of looking yellow/clear and green in a day.
Still, more than that, I really was interested who may have made it .
Thanks John for your input and kind regards.
