Hi Laurence,

Thanks very much for this! By amazing coincidence, I joined this forum today, and have one of your pots on front of me.

My late mum (Joan Faithfull nee Crawford) was a potter in Mull and Dalkeith, and I'm now sorting some of her collection of pots.

I like the birds on your pot. She used bird designs too

This is a small lustre pottery bowl with a Floral design and a bit similar to Aldermaston but I am sure isn't - it has two marks / monograms to the base - one looks like it could be MCD and the other is a stylised A - can anyone please help me identify the artist.

Lawrence Mcgowan. The A Is the Year date code for 2001. Are you sure it is lustre though? It would reflect light in a bright light if it was. He worked at Aldermaston in the late 1970's, hence the Aldermaston looking decoration , He is quite widely collected.

Hi - I do think it is lustre and this shows more in full light - I deliberately took the photo in low light as it was easier to see the pattern I thought. Thank you for the speedy identification.
