Can you help me ID this piece of sterling?
I just bought this piece which I think is a "cracker tray" at a local consignment store. It's about 7 1/2 inches long, weighs 97 gms, and is only marked "STERLING" and "1246". Any idea how old it is and where/by whom it might have been made?
Thanks.
George

Thanks.

If the only mark is sterling with no makers mark present, it is very doubtful to find who the maker is. Probably American silver.
Maybe ask on the forum at http://www.925-1000.com/forum/index.php
As they have a lot of members and may recognise the design and be able to attribute it to a maker.
