Small Green Shot Glasses Antique(?) Moser (like?)

Post by Dannd on November 15th 2013, 6:50 pm

Hello!

I was hoping someone with a bit more knowledge in glassware could identify these two small (what appears to be) shot glasses (although maybe vases?). The green/gold decorative combination reminds me a bit of Moser however it's not as exquisitely done as other examples I've seen. The glass is definitely blown quite thick and at one point had little red glass beads attached at some places but most of them are lost. Any opinions as to maker/country/age? Thanks!

My first thought was Czech...

Agree with Czech, look like Borsk Sklo to me.

I can definitely see the resemblance with the color and shape with Borske Sklo however have you seen any examples with the swirl design as this has? I can only find the matching stripes.

How big are they? They would make odd shot glasses with proportions like that. If you don't include dimensions in your question it makes it much harder to help.

French or Bohemian, circa 1900 would be my guess. Definitely not Borske Sklo - wrong era and these are enamelled by hand.

Hello,

They are 3.75" H / 9.5cm. I suggested shot glass because it looks like a tall 2oz shot glass.

With all the jewels and enamelling they are very decorative, perhaps posy vases, they could be a decade or two older than my previous guestimate.

Definitely Bohemian from the enamelling. Very late 19th to early 20th C

Thank you all for your help! I thought they may be Bohemian due to the color and enameling detail.
