Holmegaard Aristocrat Decanter
A little bit of Googling tells me that this is Holmegaard Aristocrat decanter. Found at the charity shop yesterday, complete with "by appointment to his Majesty the King of Denmark" label and a label for Birks (Canada's elite jewellery store). Sorry for the poor photo quality - my job this weekend is to build a small photo booth!

Be careful to dry out those droplets of water inside the decanter. 1950s Holmegaard - especially Smoke-coloured - stains very very easily.

Will do! I did try getting a wooden knitting needle and a little bit of towel down there but wasn't very successful. I'll try again :)

Re: Holmegaard Aristocrat Decanter
I find that rolling kitchen paper into a long thin tube and leaving it in the glass overnight works quite well for awkward pieces - it acts like a wick to any leftover moisture.

Sounds like a plan. These bottles are attractive but a pain to clean which is probably why this one looks like it's rarely been used
I'll try and take a better shot of the label tonight (doing a better job of focussing with my magnifying glass) for the files.
