Graduated purple hooped vase

Hey all, has anyone seen one of these before, loads of wear on the base, not a bad weight but cant find anything similar for love nor money to help identify it, any help greatly appreciated :)
 

 

 

Well no one seems to have seen this before, but it leads me to another question, would you class this as art glass, I think production is 60s 70s and the way it looks I would say yes, biut would be interested to see a good guide to how to classify as I'm really new to glass :-)

I've no idea how you classify something as art glass. There are mass produced domestic wares, and there are hsndmade studio pieces, but then there are the middle of the road, factory produced, decorative wares like this.

That's my issue what do you classify as art glass! :-)

I guess it's anything that's deemed iconic and collectable and designed by an artist rather than an engineer.

Since this vase is largely form over function then, yes, it would be art glass.
