Burrell Collection

Post by big ed on August 8th 2013, 9:17 pm

I had a another visit to the Burrell Ciollection in Glasgow this week , they had an impressive display of impressionist paintings on show , Manet , Degas , Sisley etc , I also loved looking at the ancient chinese ceramics and wondered at how modern it looks , there were pieces that look straight out of the winchcombe camp , Cardew n'all , but apsrt from all the ancient artifacts and paintings , I was really taken with a large ceramic charger by Thomas Toft , it was accompanied by two 3 handled tygs of his as well , fabulous stuff , really fabulous . I was there last year. Awesome collection. Needs several visits to take it all in. I posted some photos of some of the Chinese ceramics in the Exhibitions thread.

Any pictures Ed?
