this was my grandfathers desk from 1910\20 this was the begining of office furniture for the masses, it was accidently locked (with no key)so of course I went on internet and found lots of people explaining how to pick the lock in fact the easiest thing was to write to" Dons furniture clinic" in Iowa Usa a replacement key arrived today and it worked Happy

oh no we'd emptied it before and then locked just after advertising it for sale on 'le bon coin' ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Shock

A friend had a locked wooden roll front filing cabinet, and got a key from a guy who ran an antique-house-clearance shop. He had tons of keys.
