Hi All

I have just got this Tea Pot. The pottery mark is (SV) and is it The Carnon Downs Pottery near Truro. Been doing my research but no luck, any ideas please.

Barry Huggett and Hugh West were at Carnon Downs. Not found anyone with the initials SV. Are you sure it's from this pottery?

Hi

Thanks for your reply. I had an email from someone at Lets Talk About Pottery & Collectables website regarding the marks and said they had a vase the same colour & design and marks and that they got it from the Carnon Downs Pottery about 20 years ago.

That's why I put it on here to find out a little more if possible.

Hugh West's pottery was based at Carnon Downs Garden Centre, so although the other people may have bought their piece there, the Garden Centre may only have been the retailer for local potters; it might have been made elsewhere. Possibly by someone potting on weekends.

Just had a message from Hugh West with an ID for this teapot:

The teapot in question was made by Simon Vincent Evans. He worked for me as a student in the 80"s then again when I moved to Carnon Downs.
