Murano or Whitefriars long necked glass bird

Post by RVsaid on May 8th 2013, 7:54 am

Hi

Well the styling looks more Italian but the bubbles and flat cut base seem more Whitefriars however, I do not believe they made a long necked bird in this style? Nice use marks to base so not a modern piece.

I'd have to agree with Oldmagpie about the quality when compared to Whitefriars, the bubbles don't look as well controlled as Whitefriars and the base is not finished as nicely in my opinion. Surrender

Agreed. Whitefriars controlled bubbles in the ducks, for comparison, are more controlled, and there are more lines, and they extend into the neck where they're pulled during the formation of the neck.
