I have just learned of the death, a few months ago, of Robin Gurnett, once president of the Friends of Blue society. Robin was, by all accounts, a knowledgeable man about lots of different types of ceramics and a fellow Bisto collector. I met him once when he took time to come and see my collection of Bisto ware when he happened to passing the area. Robin wrote an article some years ago about the "Rise and Fall of Bisto Ware" for the Northern Ceramic Society. I found him to be a very lovely chap who was greatly enthusiastic about ceramics and spreading his wealth of knowledge. Such a shame to hear of his departure.
