Having looked at this dual coloured paperweight Rhino again and in natural lighting I have noticed a very faint etched markings to the rear that reads, Wedgewood England. This has been an oversight. Still with this information in mind, I have not been able to find one in this colour, however, I managed to find one now knowing it is Wedgewood and was sold in 2012 on Ebay. This particular one, had no markings and dated as Glass Era pre-1840. Is this correct?

Wedgwood didn't put their name to glass untill 1969 when they purchased Kings Lynn Glass. Ronald Stennett Willson designed the animal ranges, but I have never seen this one.

Hello Davee, I do not know the date of the paperweight I posted, however, based upon your initial comment, therefore mine would have been probably made after 1969? Just a thought. Rolling Eyes I've managed to take a relatively good picture of the markings. Hopefully this may shed some light. Reference to the Rhino posted on Ebay, I'm not sure how the period was determined. I make clear, this is not to say it isn't Wedgewood. To add, I'm now wondering due to the difficulty in finding similar online, even knowing that It could be Wedgewood, that both could be rare or just one-offs?

Thanx Chris. It would be interesting to know if this is an early or late piece based upon the comments Davee made. Happy

Pretty sure it's not a 'common' piece. According to glass notes started out when Kings Lynne glass was bought out by Wedgwood and re-named Wedgwood Glass in 1969 merged with Waterford in 1986 and finally bought by Caithness Glass in 1988.
