David Ashby. Courtyard Pottery. Grassington (N.Yorks)
Thought I'd post a couple of potters tonight who are friends of mine. I found David's colourful slipwares when I moved to the Yorkshire Dales 15 years ago and have bought lots of pieces to use in the kitchen since. Being earthenware they can chip but who cares, it's just an excuse for buying another.
This vase is the earliest, probably c1996. Not sure where I bought it. 13cm (height). Unmarked.

He is now based in Grassington, nr Skipton working out of a lovely studio come craft shop called Courtyard Pottery, his mark is CP as a result. Well-worth a visit! This little vase came from there probably about 5 years ago. 12.8cm (height).

Finally a nice, useful milk jug. 10cm (height). He still makes this style but he also makes a range of more expensive 'art' pottery. Check out his website for pictures.
