Bourne Denby Shallow Dish Green Glaze.

This is another of my Grandmothers, one of which I've always loved so she gave it to me some years ago, and this will always be one of my keepers. It has suffered some chips (don't mention the removal men) during a recent house move.
I've always liked its fluid lines but never known the date or style name. I can't find much...in fact anything, the same so far on the internet. I was wondering if anyone knew about it.

Danesby Denby

Post by slopingsteve on July 27th 2016, 5:21 pm

Imagine:Alice, Susie, Clarice together for Artists in Industry

A Czech lady (a glaze wizard) called Alice turned up at Denby around the same time as Clarice and Susie were working at or towards their peaks.
What would they have created if, just for a month or so, they had collaborated; Alice doing the glazes, Clarice the shapes and designs, and Susie transferring their ideas onto the pots?

This is a Denby Danesby Ware Electric Blue vase and the glaze is possibly my favourite of all time. I had a similar jug which I sold and regretted it immediately. I was really lucky to come across this at the boot sale. The vase is an 8" one -quite large- and the shape and the colour are wonderful. It looks good from a distance but it looks amazing close up.

I love the colour too.
I'll merge it with the Danesby thread
