Well the model is certainly correct for a "Siedzacy Kot" designed in 1958.
The original bases were usually glazed as I remember, so maybe this is a re-issue.

I don't know any information welcome. Nice design I hadn't seen before . The others I have are just block colours on the body (in blue and black).

Mind you I did find one in my collection with an unglazed base. "Slonik" from 1959.
Small, so no room for the factory mark, but as ususal there are lots of numbers.

Oh that's interesting , you have some lovely pieces.The "hole" on the 85 cat is larger than the marked ones......no idea why.

I don't have your cat model to compare, but it would be great to see the other models
you have sometime.

I have two questions?

1) Is it pronounced she-me-lough ? anyone speak Polish?
2) How do you tell original pieces not modern or 80's repro?

Shmeerlov is about right.
The reissues as I recall, had a red bar in the mark.
Different enough to avoid confusion anyway.

Sorry the reissues have a red diamond.
Plenty of examples on EBay.

No I've had this years - the pattern seemed strong.

Nice one, It's A Wazon (vase) "SWIT" in the book, though with different decoration.
Not dated, but they are generally all late 1950s.

My one Vase, 9 1/2", Reminiscent of the Jessie Tait "Tonga" vase for Midwinter.

ignorance prevented me from buying a few last week but they are not that cheap in Poland

I prefer C-MEEE-LOW - Spoke to a polish girl at work and she said the factory is a well known prestigious one - I suppose like Derby or Daulton.

Anything in porcelain is normally a little bit better quality is it not?
