I think this is a 1950s/60s piece - perhaps a Robert Jefferson design (?) - Dan, can you confirm anything at all about this?

Spot on Pip.
It was designed by Robert Jefferson in 1964 and is part of the hand-thrown Bokhara range.
Yours is a 675 vase that was made in 2 sizes, 6 inch and 8 inch decorated in Sapphire blue and black.

Flog it in Poole, worth wading through the program to see the section on Poole pottery.

What's the whole piece look like please? I would never have thought of that as Aegean (I assume it is marked to the back, or do you just know? )

I'm liking the lift plate! How did you get hold of that? We visited Poole Pottery in the harbour (before it was demolished obviously!) a few years back.

It belongs to a friend who salvaged many important pieces of the old Poole pottery before demolition, these pieces would have been destroyed otherwise so Poole pottery collectors owe him a great debt.
