Which Leach?

Post by potsandbooks on Sat Jan 28, 2012 4:30 pm

Hello

I'm new to this forum. Could anyone give me some information about this very nice lidded pot? It measures 4" across the top and is 6" tall. The pot is signed by hand on the base (see photo), but I don't recognise the signature - possibly one of the Leach's?

Many thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum. The style of the pot and the mark are not familiar to me but I am certain that it is not by any member of the Leach family. Sorry that I cannot be of more help but maybe someone else will be able to be.

Thanks for the quick response, studio-pots. I agree that the style is unusual and the signature probably not one of the better known Leach's (more likely, wishful thinking on my part!). It looks more like CREACH or EREACH...

I would love to get to the bottom of this. It's been puzzling me for years.

Dantheman, just seen your request for a better image - give me a few minutes...

It's gone very quiet...

Does anybody have any thoughts on this?
